LEAGUE RULES
All volleyball rules other than those outlined here is according to the Volleyball Canada Rulebook 2024-2025.
SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This league is at the intermediate level.

Leagues at this level are designed to cater to volleyball players who have been learning how to play the sport while looking for a competitive environment.

Professional players and varsity players are not permitted to play at this level under any circumstances.
TEAM COMPOSITION:

Team rosters are unlimited, but merch is limit to 6 players. All players are required to sign the waiver in order to compete.
PLAYING ACTIONS & FOOT FAULTS:

Players are permitted to step one foot into the court on serves.

Consecutive contacts (otherwise known as double touches) will be observed.

Ceiling contact may be played granted the ball remains on the same side of the court. Wall and curtain contact is considered out of bounds.
TIME OUTS:

There will be no time outs during regular season games.

Teams will be granted one time out per game during playoffs.
SPORTSMANSHIP:

Please be respectful to all personnel attending and officiating the league. This includes referees, volunteers, event staff and facility workers.

Cheer positively and respect your opponents. Unsportsmanlike conduct, such as taunting and verbal abuse will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal of individuals or teams.

During matches, in the event of a discrepancy on a call, always offer teams to re-serve the point.
OFFICIATING:

Teams officiating are responsible for making sure games start on time.

Please provide at least one head referee and two linesman for each game you are officiating.

Whistles will be provided. You may use your own if you have one.

If we are more than 5 minutes behind, please start games at 4-4 until we are back on schedule. You may confirm with the organizers if needed.

Week 5 Standings are up!
This schedule now reflects the FOLLOWING week and the teams you are going to be playing in your tier.
Please make sure games start as soon as possible. Officiating teams are responsible for getting games started on time. They must also provide linesman to officiate.
*IMPORTANT*
In order to make sure we stay on schedule, please do not do any hitting lines in between games. If this continues, we will move to penalize teams for causing delays.
