There are two tiers, six teams a tier
-
Gold tier - high intermediate level
-
Silver tier - intermediate level
-
-
Players may register as an individual or as a team, however, it is recommended that players register with a full team to maintain team cohesiveness as teams made up of individuals are made randomly and do not take player positions into consideration
-
If the individuals that register are unable to form a team that fits the minimum female/male requirements, this rule will be waived.
-
Everyone plays each team in their tier (5 sets total)
-
The team with the best win-loss ratio wins
-
If two teams have the same win-loss ratio, the winner is calculated through point differential
-
If point differential is the same between the two teams, a coin flip will be initiated to determine the winner
-
-
Each game will be timed to 20 minutes, and then will be cut off either if a team scores 25 points, or if time runs out.
Rules:
-
Teams are limited to 6 players each.
-
Liberos are not permitted and no substitutions are allowed unless discussed and approved by an organizer first.
-
Teams who have been approved to have a libero/substitution involuntarily agrees that if this team wins, an extra shirt will not be provided for the extra player nor will the cash prize increase for the gold division.
-
-
There is a minimum 1 female requirement.
-
Balls that hit the ceiling are playable, as long as they remain on your side, and are limited to one bounce off the ceiling
-
This means the ball cannot ricochet off the ceiling and be playable. Anything that ricochets off the ceiling banisters, beams or structures more than once, is a dead ball and a point will be rewarded to the opposing team.
-
-
Players are permitted to step one full foot into the court when serving.
-
Double contacts will be observed and will result in the responsible team losing a point
-
Balls hitting the sides of the courts, including the curtains, walls and fans, will result in a dead ball and a point awarded to the opposite team
-
In the event of a fault discrepancy (both teams cannot agree on a call), a re-serve will be permitted
-
Each set/game will be played until time runs out, or until 25, cap at 27.
-
No timeouts are permitted
